Berlin

You are probably aware that Berlin is an interesting, vibrant city. But did you know that it has around 60 rowing clubs? With its many lakes and waterways, Berlin is actually an ideal place for rowing.

Rowing water

We use the beautiful, tastefully decorated facilities and boat house of the friendly and hospitable rowing club “Rudergesellschaft Wiking” in Neuköln, near the city centre. The club also has an extensive field and is located along a stretch of excellent rowing water.

Outings will take place on the sheltered Teltow Canal, which is excellent for rowing, with little other traffic.

Boats

Participants will use a single or a double or a pair from RG Wiking. For some courses we will bring a part of our own fleet

Coaching

Coaching will be done from the coaching launch.

Accommodation

Participants will book their own overnight stay. There are several hotels at walking distance from the rowing club. Accommodation in other parts of Berlin can be reached easily by U-Bahn (metro) or S-Bahn (tram/train). You can also choose to stay in one of the two clean, basic dormitories (hostel-style) with kitchen facilities at RG Wiking.

Hot lunch will be provided at RG Wiking.

Berlin is easily accessible by train and airplane, and has an excellent public transport system. From RG Wiking in Neuköln, the U-Bahn, S-Bahn or bus will get you to Kreuzberg in a few minutes, or to Potzdammerplatz in about 20 minutes. Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) is also quick and easy to reach by public transport.

Berlin has lots to offer in terms of art and culture, and has a wide range of international restaurants. Plenty to do and to discover after rowing!
