Rowing in Duisburg-Wedau

This internationally renowned rowing course is a beautiful location for training: the race course has a separate canal for warming-up. An excellent place for anyone who wants to work on their rowing technique in summer and winter.

Rowing water

The Wedau regatta course has a separate 1800 m warm up lane to the start. This sheltered warm up lane, with a coaching path alongside, is our training water – ideal for coached rowing.

Duisburg-Wedau is easily reached by rowers from the Netherlands and Germany.

Fleet

In Duisburg-Wedau you will be rowing in one of our own SaarRowingCenter boats: 1x, 2x or 2-. Beginning single scullers can work on their technique in a Wintech Explorer 24.

Coaching

The training programme is open to advanced or experiences scullers who are able to row comfortably in a single scull, double scull or pair. Starters (no rowing experience) and beginners ces (some rowing experience, but no experience in the single scull) are also welcome. For starters and beginners we provide the Wintech Explorer 24: a stable boat to be rowed by a single person with the rowing characteristics of a single scull.

Accommodation

In Duisburg-Wedau, we are the guests of Duisburger Ruderverein. Duisburger RV is located along the 2k regatta course in the centre of Wedau, and has excellent rowing facilities. Duisburger Ruderverein in Wedau can easily be reached by car: the town is conveniently located close to several motorways and there is ample parking space nearby.
