In 2026, we will be offering our first rowing course in the south of France. The course will take place from March 24 to 27, 2026, on Lac de Saint Cassien. We will be guests at the Base Nautique – Aviron Formation Var rowing center, which welcomes more than 2,000 rowers every year. Various Dutch (student) rowing clubs have already found their way to Lac de St. Cassien for their (winter) training sessions.

Rowing center

Lac de St Cassien is surrounded by forest. The lake offers ideal rowing conditions, especially in winter. There is no commercial shipping and hardly any motorboats.

The rowing center opened in 2021 and offers modern sports facilities in beautiful surroundings with views of the Alpes Maritimes.

Boats

We bring our own boats to Lac de Saint Cassien: single sculls in different weight class, double scull and/or pair.

Rowing water

Lac de Saint Cassien is a reservoir with three ‘legs‘. Weather conditions determine where we row and coach each day.

Coaching

We use motorboats for coaching. On day 1, 2 and 3, you will row twice a day. Between the morning and afternoon outings we will have the video analysis. On day 4, you will only train in the morning. Travel and accommodation

The rowing centre is located near Montauroux. Participants organise their own travel and accommodation. The rowing centre is easily accessible by car and is approximately 50 km (car) from Nice Airport. There are several accommodation options in the vicinity of the rowing centre (including bungalows, gîtes, hotels, etc.).

Course dates

The the four-day course starts on Tuesday March 24th 2026. The course ends on Friday March 27th 2026 at the end of the morning/early afternoon.
