Rowing in Dalfsen
Wide and calm rowing water, nature and a friendly atmosphere. Dalfsen aan de Vecht in the Netherlands is an excellent location to polish up your rowing technique in one day, or take your first steps in the single scull. If you want to get away from it all, you can book two or more consecutive days, with or without your rowing buddies.
Location
Dalfsen is a rustic village in the Vecht valley between Zwolle and Ommen. SaarRowingCenter offers training here in the single scull, double scull or pair. For advanced rowers, beginners and starters alike.
You will launch in the marina in the centre of Dalfsen.
The atmosphere in the village is relaxed and you will find cosy shops and restaurants. The surrounding area is also great for cycling and walking.
Roeiwater
You row in Dalfsen on the Overijsselse Vecht, a river that enters the Netherlands from Germany near Hardenberg, and then flows into the Zwarte Water near Zwolle. Between two locks, we have about 10 kilometres of water at our disposal. Here, the Vecht has natural banks that slope at an angle. Outside the summer season, there is no recreational traffic, only the occasional fishing boat.
From the marina, there is a coach path (bicycle) of about 1.5 kilometres directly along the water.
Coaching
You row twice a day, with a break of 1.5 to 2 hours between training sessions. The coach cycles along on the coaching path along the water, and makes video recordings. We analyse these during the break. In the afternoon training, you can then immediately put the tips and exercises into practice under supervision.
Journey and accommodation
There is parking place for your car at the marina. The location is also easy to reach by train. Dalfsen train station is at walking distance from the marina. For training days, there is a wide choice of holiday homes and hotels in (the vicinity of) Dalfsen.
